How to request deletion of your personal information from OrderLink
Your Right to Data Deletion
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We are committed to honoring this right while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Important Information Before Requesting Deletion
- Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
- Your storefront and all products will be removed
- You will lose access to order history and analytics
- Some data may be retained for legal compliance (see below)
- Outstanding payment disputes must be resolved first
How to Request Data Deletion
Option 1: Through Your Dashboard
- Log in to your OrderLink account
- Go to Settings → Account
- Scroll to the Delete Account section
- Click "Request Account Deletion"
- Confirm your decision and provide a reason (optional)
- You will receive a confirmation email
Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access your account, send a deletion request via email:
Send email to: privacy@orderlink.ng
Subject: Data Deletion Request
Include the following information:
- Full name associated with the account
- Phone number used for registration (your primary account identifier)
- Username/store name
- Reason for deletion (optional but helpful)
Verification Process
To protect your account security, we will verify your identity before processing the deletion. Since your account is registered using your phone number, verification will typically involve:
- We will send a verification code to your registered phone number
- You may need to provide additional identification documents
- If requesting via email, we will verify your identity through your registered phone number
What Data Will Be Deleted
Upon approval of your deletion request, we will permanently delete:
- Your account information (name, phone number)
- Store information (name, description, images)
- Product listings and images
- Marketing preferences and communication history
- Analytics and usage data
- Session data and login credentials
Note: Customer email addresses collected during checkout (required by payment processors) are associated with transactions and will be retained according to our legal obligations described below.
Data Retained for Legal Compliance
Some data must be retained to comply with Nigerian financial and tax regulations:
Required Retention (7 years)
- Transaction records and payment history
- Invoice and receipt data
- Tax-related information
- Financial statements
Fraud Prevention
Basic account identifiers may be retained to prevent fraud, abuse, and creation of duplicate accounts. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally.
Legal Disputes
If there are ongoing legal disputes, payment issues, or investigations, relevant data will be retained until the matter is resolved.

Request Received
We acknowledge your request within 24 hours
Identity Verification
2-3 business days to verify your identity
Review and Processing
3-5 business days to process the deletion
Confirmation
You receive confirmation that deletion is complete
Total timeline: Your data will be deleted within 10 business days of request verification, unless there are legal holds or outstanding disputes.
Alternative: Download Your Data
Before deleting your account, you may want to download a copy of your data:
- Log in to your dashboard
- Go to Settings → Privacy
- Click "Download My Data"
- You'll receive a downloadable file with your information within 48 hours
